Chris’ Profile
Chris Patterson holds a conjoint law and commerce degree with Honours from the University of Otago. He was admitted as a barrister and solicitor to the High Court of New Zealand in 1997, the Supreme Court of New South Wales 2001, the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2009 and to the High Court of Australia in 2004.
Chris’ busy practice is comprised of a broad range of litigation work. His areas of practice include civil and commercial litigation, insolvency, professional negligence, property, relationship property, employment, intellectual property, information technology, financial crime, trust and estate work.
Chris appears regularly at all levels of the lower and superior courts as well as in a number of the Australian courts including the New South Wales Court of Appeal. He is a member of the Litigation Group in Auckland, and was previously a member of Eldon Chambers having practiced at one of Auckland’s largest commercial litigation firms beforehand. Chris worked in New York as a law clerk during the mid-1990s and has held a door tenancy with Elizabeth Street Chambers Sydney since mid-2001.
